Top 3 wine bars with Mike Bennie

Mike Bennie (@mikerism101), our resident Wine Guy here at Loqules, is constantly travelling the world’s finest vineyards as a freelance wine and drinks writer, journalist and presenter. He’s an active wine judge in Australia and overseas and a co-founder of the artisan and sustainability-focused Rootstock Sydney food and wine festival.

Mike has a passion for chasing down interesting, unique, boutique, artisan wine producers, focusing on great wines of the world and the loosely-defined category of ‘natural wines’ from biodynamic and organic vineyards. As one of our Loqules, we asked him to give us the scoop on his current top 3 wine bars around the world and what we should try when we visit.

Ultimate BOWL-A-RAMA with Corbin Harris

We’re stoked that one of our very first experiences we’re offering Loqules is a collaboration between Vans BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi and professional skater &  TV host Corbin Harris(@corbinharris). Originally from Sydney, Corbin currently resides in Los Angeles where he co-hosts the X Games alongside Tony Hawk and does a bunch of work for NBC too. However having him back in the country for BOWL-A-RAMA, we thought we’d get him involved in an experience that includes a private skate session with him and then VIP access to BOWL-A-RAMA that comes with all the bells and whistles. It’s a pretty rad experience!

So with Corbin back in his hometown and just over a week away until BOWL-A-RAMA, we thought we’d catch up with him and see what he misses the most about Sydney.

Almost Famous with Monte

Michael Tramonte(@monteenwolf) or “Monte” as he is affectionately known to many is a good friend of ours at Loqules and also happens to play bass in awesome Australian rock band The Delta Riggs. He will tell you his official title is “Bass & Backing Vox” and if you’ve ever been to a Riggs show, you will see him harmonising his little heart out. The Delta Riggs are going from strength to strength at the moment, they were just announced on Groovin The Moo, have recently returned from a US tour and are about to head back to the US for SXSW in March but not before opening for the Foo Fighters on their stadium sized national Australian tour.

Monte’s a busy guy but we caught up with him to give us 3 of his favourite tour stories.
