Although not even 12 months old, we worked out early on that our experiences are a really powerful way to impact people’s lives in a positive way. Without having a formal “giving back” strategy, we have used our platform to raise money and awareness for organisations such as SurfAid, Livin and Prince Of Wales Hospital Foundation.
So today we are stoked to start 2016 with the announcement of Loqules #DoGood. Our strategy with #DoGood is quite simple, we want to use our awe inspiring Loqule experts, platform and once in a lifetime experiences to help make the world a better place.
We’ll do this in a few ways. One is that each month we will select a charity or non-profit and give them an experience that they can either sell, auction off or give away in a competition. We will then facilitate the experience and make sure the benefactors are pumped.
Another way we are doing this is by partnering with legends to offer people the opportunity to do rad stuff that they wouldn’t normally get access to, get inspired and create lifelong memories. We did this recently by teaming up with NRL star James ‘Chicko’ Segeyaro and suicide prevention charity, Livin to offer some people that have had a tough year the opportunity to spend the day training with Chicko, play a game of touch footy and have lunch together.
What was great was that not only did Chicko give up his time to create an amazing experience, his team the Penrith Panthers gave us full use of their facilities and we even had some surprise guests in the form of other Panthers players joining in the fun.
